January 2025 - Weeding Weakness

" - Jocko Willink " Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. " (John 15:2) My church's theme this year is Grounded in Growing, and the youth group's theme is Next Step. While considering these themes, a point stuck in my mind. A key component for growing, whether it's plants, animals, or people, is to remove the bad and replace it with good: pruning. So for those who would like to grow and take the next step, we will have to put in the work to remove the bad in our lives. 1. Assess: What weeds are in your garden of life?
