February 2024 - Call on God

Prayer is the window that God has placed in the walls of our world. Leave it shut and the world is a cold, dark house. But throw back the curtains and see His light. Open the window and hear His voice. Open the window of prayer and invoke the presence of God in your world. - Mac Lucado

This past month has been very eye opening: God definitely knows how to answer a challenge. He has given me plenty of reasons to learn to trust Him and has come through every time. In January we learned to trust. February, let's learn to call. Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."

  1. Breaking it down: I mean, it's pretty simple... "Call unto Me."  What do you need done in your life? What mountain needs moving? Bring it to God. God is capable of doing more than you could ever dream of. But if takes action; you have to call.
  2. Call is not singular: Throughout the Bible, God teaches that He wants you to call persistently. It's not a one and done thing. You call until you get an answer. Try setting a timer for every day at 3:33 (Jeremiah 33:3;) and pray when it goes off.
  3. Call actively: God likes action. It's a lot easier to steer the direction of something that is already in motion, than it is to have to push it into motion. One of my favorite sayings is "Take the next right step. Do the next right thing." You may not be sure what God wants for you. Maybe you're unsure about your future or even your present, but nothing is unexpected to God. So rather than worrying, pray, and take that next step.
  4. Watch God come through: He said if you call, He'll answer. And God won't just answer, He'll answer in ways you can't even imagine.
"Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."  This February let's challenge God to answer our call.
