October 2023 - Walking with the Father
What I will be doing is hard. I know because I've done it before. Not everyone will be able to do it, so I am going to give you 3 different options:
1. Beginners. You probably don't read your Bible on your own, or if you do there is no regularity to it. If that's you, your goal for this month is simply to get in the habit of opening your Bible every day. I don't care if you only read one verse a day, the goal is to build the habit. I have been reading my Bible every day for the past 11 years, and it all started because I built the habit.
2. Intermediate. You might have built a pretty consistent habit, but maybe you need to work on growing within that habit. The biggest struggle usually isn't having enough to read or pray about, but instead having enough time to do all that you want to. So your challenge is to set aside a specific block of time: 20, 30, 60 minutes... I don't care how much as long as it is more than you are currently doing. Then I want you to focus on doing that amount of time each day.
3. Old Ones;) You should have a consistent habit that you are comfortable with. And this challenge should push you right out of that comfort zone. Because that's what we're all about, right? I challenge you to join me in reading through the entire Bible in a month. No, it's not impossible. Difficult? Yes. Impossible? No. Trust me. It will be hard and it will be a lot of work, but it will be worth every minute. I found that the simplest way to keep on track is to divide the pages in your Bible by the 31 days in October and make sure to read those pages each day. For my Bible that equals 50 pages, plus a Proverb a day. I have attached 3 different pdf trackers below. One is an example of what I will be doing, and the other two are blanks that you can fill out to your specific needs.
Remember, we don't read our Bible to check off a box; we read it to grow our relationship with the Father. So no matter what step you are on, make sure you learn something about Him each day. We have the choice to have a personal relationship with our loving Father above, why wouldn't we choose that?! Grasp His hand with me and let's learn to walk together with Him.
