January Monthly - The Challenge Within the Challenge
December may be over, but just remember that the "reason for the season" didn't end with December. The spirit of giving, peace, and joy should be a year-round attitude. Continue to enjoy what the season brings, and share that spirit with others.
January: the month of new beginnings. My challenge to you this month is for you to set a challenge. An entire year is ahead of you. You get to write the script. As you look forward to the coming year, think about where you have been this past year and where you would like to be at the end. Proverbs 27:23 says, "Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds." Think in book style: you are the subject, this coming year is the 12 chapters, you decide how you want the story to go, then start writing your story. You want to be a pianist, you write lessons into your story; you want to be a runner, your alarm is set a little earlier and you write in a partner to keep you committed; write out the script, then live out the story. As we move forward, remember it's not about doing one big thing; it's all the little things you do that make the big difference. Focus each day on doing 1% better and by the end of the year you will be 37% better. "Little by little, a little becomes a lot." Tanzanian Proverb.
