Why Do a Monthly Challenge?

Why do a 30 day challenge? Will it even make a difference? Here are 5 reasons why you can believe like I do: they do make a difference.

1. Refresh. Maybe you've been stuck in a rut for a while and simply need to refresh how, why, or what you are doing. You can use the next 30 days like you would the New Year: reevaluate your old goals, write down your new ones, and focus on crushing them.

2. Motivation. Sometimes you just need a shot in the arm to get you started. Getting up at 6:30 in order to fit in a workout in the morning? Reading those books that continue to sit unread on your nightstand? Or maybe going off sugar to help rid yourself of that aching pain? 30 days gives you a set amount of time to accomplish your put off goal, in turn, motivating you to set aside the time, and finally complete the tasks.

3. Habit Building. 30 days give you a good basis on which to start a new habit. Your brain becomes adjusted to doing the new task, the daily repetition causes you to remember without the checklist, and your body starts going through the motions automatically. Within 66 days you have a lifetime habit you don't even have to think about: you just do it.

4. Jump Start. What is it that you are constantly putting off to a later date? Whether its due to fear, perceived lack of time, not enough drive, etc. 30 days will allow you to get a jump start on beginning that business you've always dreamed of, writing that book, learning that new skill, or whatever else it is that you've been putting off. You'd be amazed at how much you can accomplish in 30 days once you've committed to it.

5. Limit Pushing. "Great things never come from comfort zones." - Unknown. If you want to finally achieve your goals, you have to step out. A 30 day challenge can help give you the courage to do so. "Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground." - Theodore Roosevelt

Committing to a 30 day challenge will be hard. It will most likely push you out of your comfort zone, force you to make time for things, cut back on your "free time," and often just be difficult, but it will be worth it. 30 days can change your life. Some may focus on their favorite hobby, which in turn becomes a business that provides for their family. Some may read a book that changes the direction of their future. Others may workout, improving their fitness, and allowing them more freedom to do things. The only way to see where the next 30 days can take you is to commit to a new challenge. Create your own or join me each month for a new way to change and improve your life.
